QUR'AN vs Quran


If you have gone through the Qur'an then you must have noticed the diversity of its ayats and the QUR'AN of Allah is different from the Quran of clergy.


The QUR'AN is a living miracle for eternity. It's application is valid for every century. But the clergy of Islam has made the QUR'AN a story book and argue that it cannot be understood by normal people. Ordinary people will be mislead when they read the QUR'AN on their own. Only clergy has understood the QUR'AN in best possible way and only he can guide the people to best understanding as if QUR'AN itself was not enough for conveying its message to people. This assumption of the clergy has a great impact on generations. Many generations have been deprived of reaching to the message of their creator. And unfortunately, some born Muslims die without even knowing what they read in Arabic their whole life.

Here QUR'AN speaks for itself in Surah Qamar and Surah Furqan:

And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned." (25:30)

And We have indeed made the QUR'AN easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? (54:17)


We have only one QUR'AN and one message but we have so many sectarian bodies who justify their existence on the basis of this book.

The Deobandiyah, the Barelviyah, the Salafiyyah, the Wahhabiyah, the Ahlul Hadith and many more. How do they came into being? Didn't they read that ayah of the Qur'an where it says :

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided. (3: 103) 

The QUR'AN of Allah is teaching something else and the Quran of clergy is teaching something else. The clergy has specialization in putting suffix and prefix to the word "Muslim".

But the the Qur'an shows us the other picture:

Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." (2:136)

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]." (7:126)

Indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims. (2:132)


The QUR'AN of Allah is teaching us to call ourselves only Muslism and taught us the Dua to not die "except as Muslims". But here clergy is busy in gathering the followers to his sect to gain power and influence to malign other sectarian group. 

The mind of clergy is intellectually stagnated that he only talks about the matters below the ground and above the sky. He projects the Islam and QUR'AN as some sort of Buddhist philosophy which is only meant for redemption from this worldly life. Then that same clergy laments on the contemporary status of Muslims. How will the misery of Muslims reduce when there is no talk about development in field of Education, Politics, Science, Socio - economical development etc. The only thing to talk about Islam is left is its spiritual realm. This degrades the sanctity and sapience of Islam as a way of life.

What is noticed is that the different sectarian groups present the understanding of Qur'an to suit the interest of their sects. The diverse nature of Qur'an is put on hold and out of more than 6000 ayats some ambiguous ayats are chosen to justify the legitimacy and truthfulness of their camp. 


We have speakers who focuses only on the mercy of Allah which pictures the image of the creator who is only merciful and will give direct ticket to heaven no matter what the creation does. We have speakers who only remind the people about wrath of Allah as if there is no hope after ones transgression. The people belonging to this camp picture themselves as saved sects and see other people as drowned in sin loosing all hope where hell is just waiting for them.

The clergy has unknowingly legitimized the acceptance of riba (Interest) if someone takes the riba and gives it to charity without expecting reward from Allah. While the case which QUR'AN and the traditions of Prophet gives is very scary.

O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger.

(Quran 2:278-9)

Know that the Prophet ﷺ cursed all parties involved in a riba transaction:

He ﷺ cursed the accepter of interest and its payer, and one who records it, and the two witnesses, and he said: “They are all equal.”

(Sahih Muslim)

How is it that we can take that surplus interest amount apart from principle and give it to charity ? While giving interest and taking interest are the gravest of sin and can result in eternal hell.

We have another set of clergy who knowingly or unknowingly has issued enough apology to the detractors of Islam and which has resulted in the dilution of the institution of Jihad.

Jihad means exertion, striving; but in juridico-religious sense, it signifies the exertion of one's power to the utmost of one's capacity in the cause of Allah.

Jihad in Islam is not an act of violence directed indiscriminately against the non-Muslims; it is the name given to an all-round struggle which a Muslim should launch against evil in whatever form or shape it appears. Being submissive and apologetic to the  critiques and media about a Qur'anic injunction is as if Allah has put a difficulty on us revealing the verses of Jihad. The institution of Jihad is established to fight the evil and injustice in the society perpetuated by oppressors and establish truth and justice. The misinformation about jihad has resulted in the belief that Islam is a pacifist religion which is misleading at various levels. The Qur'an has different paradigm in regards to fighting in the way of Allah.

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. (2: 190)

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast? (3: 142)

And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?" (4: 75)


There are more than 2 dozens verses talking about Jihad. If the criticism of detractors is given heed then either the verses of the QUR'AN has to be abrogated or it has to be accepted unapologetically.

Well the list is unending. If we start talking about the downfall of scientific temperament, the prohibition of printing press, coffee, loudspeaker, aeroplane, camera, chain watches and what not. The only thing that can be done is to read QUR'AN of Allah by yourself because the ecstacy which you will feel by reading the QUR'AN and understanding the Divine wisdom it cannot be found in any speakers speech. 

And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying. (Surah An'am :116)
