Encounter with the Devil - Part 01
I rebuked him, "Go away and do not disturb me."
He asked, "Did you recognize me?"
I responded, "How could I not recognize you when you are the reason for my downfall? How could I not recognize you when you are taking me away from my beloved? How could I not recognize you when you are pushing me down the cliff every moment of my existence?"
He said, "Oh boy! You're so naive and childish. You recognized me but you do not know me."
I asked, "What do you mean?"
He questioned, "Do you fear your beloved?"
I replied, "Yes, I both fear and love my beloved."
He said, "No, you do not."
I insisted, "I do, more than you have ever done."
He retorted, "Stop fooling yourself and blaming me for your wretched condition. Did you read that book where you seek refuge from me?"
I said, "Yes, I did, and I read it every day."
He exclaimed, "Oh, you are more ignorant than I am."
I warned, "Dare not utter this nonsense."
He questioned, "Then what are you? When you don't even know that I fear the Lord of the Worlds and that I didn't do anything except whisper to you. You are the one to blame. Didn't you read the verses of Surah Hashr?"
I confirmed, "I have memorized what you're saying."
He declared, "Then you are doomed more than I planned for you."
And then he started crying like a child.
I asked, "What happened?"
Suddenly, he began laughing mischievously, his eyes gleaming with malevolence. The sinister sound echoed in the room, driving me to the brink of madness. With every ounce of strength from my fist, I smashed his mocking face. The mirror shattered with a deafening crash, and he was gone.
